Carthage Municipal Golf Course is a Public 18 hole golf course located in Carthage, Missouri.
This course's back nine was built in 1937, and its front nine was built in 1985. The course was designed by Mike Farlow.
Par for the course is 71. From the back tees the course plays to 6,402 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5,469 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 4, a par-5 that plays to 540 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 12, a par-3 that plays to 140 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 2, a 473 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 12, the 140 yard par-3.
The back nine features mature oak trees forming thick tree-lined fairways. The greens are very small and undulating. This course has a lot of character. Even though the front nine has more sand bunkers and narrower fairways, it is a little bit easier. The greens are almost twice the size of the greens on the back nine. Water hazards (ponds and a creek) come into play on eight holes. About half the greens and tee boxes are elevated. The signature hole is #9, a 330-yard, par 4, because it requires a tee shot up a dogleg right fairway.

Good course for average golfer. Challenging, but still a fair test of your golf game. Layout will have you using most clubs in your bag.
